Referral to your nearest sample collection point. For abnormal alcohol tests, there is an additional cost for verification of the result through a test called PEth. For abnormal urine screening tests requiring verification analysis, and for chiral analysis when medicated with Elvanse/Attentin, there is an additional cost of 1,500 SEK for each test. The price of 1,500 SEK applies to the most common substances: Amphetamine, Benzodiazepines, Cannabis, Cocaine, and Opiates. What is a Medical Certificate for alcohol, narcotics and medications?

In certain cases, the Swedish Transport Agency requires you to submit a medical certificate confirming that you are free from abuse and suitable to operate vehicles in traffic.

To achieve this, you need to meet with our specialist physician and then provide a number of blood and urine samples. The number of samples required and the length of the observation period are stated in the notification the Swedish Transport Agency sends when you apply for a driving permit.

When all samples have been submitted and the observation period is over, a final medical consultation is booked where questions are asked and a certificate is issued.

If you choose to discontinue an ongoing observation period, a one-time fee of 1,500 SEK will be charged, as the medical consultation price is reduced and considered part of a whole together with the testing.
